LESSON 18

Say no without losing the customer

The job you should not take will cost you more than the one you turn down.

Paste this:

A customer is asking me for something I cannot do, or should not do at this price. Write my reply. Be warm, be direct, say no clearly in the first two sentences, and offer the one thing I can do instead. Do not over-explain and do not leave the door open if it should be closed.

Write out what they asked and what you are willing to do. The hardest part of a no is the first sentence, and this writes it for you.

Paste what they asked for, not who they are. Their name, their company and their phone number add nothing to the answer.
